Energy is "funny." The average, mundane person might believe in energy, but has no clue how it works or exists.
The root of many issues today, individually and collectively, comes from a lack of spiritual fulfillment. So many people work dead end jobs they dislike. So many people isolate themselves because they fear getting hurt. So many people get into negative relationships because they themselves are negative or lack confidence and rush into a relationship to fulfill themselves. Everyone's soul on this planet requires some form of healing. There is no way to live a human experience without being hurt, disappointed or let down. When that happens, the soul requires healing. When you heal the soul, everything else begins to follow. The point is to heal the trinity, the mind, the body and the soul. I said it once and I'll say it again. Social media and the internet has messed up our emotional state and mental bodies. With countless opinions being spread on YouTube and throughout the media, people who absorb too many belief systems can get confused.
Once this happens, it is hard to discern what is truth or not. Absorbing this information will alter our belief systems. The world is full of "good and bad" people, places, cultures, cities and countries. It is important to switch the perception of the lens that you view the world, a situation or an event. In the world of fake news and fear mongering, it is important to stay aware, but not fall trap of going down the rabbit hole where it consumes you and alters your belief system. Guard your mind and also guard your heart. What you think is what you believe, and what you believe ends up becoming your reality. No matter what you believe in, there are sheep in every movement. Most of what hooks us today is consumerism. Our happiness, self-esteem and self-worth are linked to consumerism. Shopping addiction exists, and is used as a bandaid to cope with loneliness or depression.
Materialism is the external glitz and glamour of "lust for the flesh." What I mean is that we live in a clothed world, and the more we seek to fit into the latest trend or to have a specific type of dress for that event, we continuously feed or "clothe" the flesh with superficial things that do not make us happy. All forms of spirituality speak of minimalism and simplicity. It has its truth and the point is not to live in rags, but appreciate what you have, and detach from wanting or needing external things to make you happy. Sometimes tough love or our friends being tough on us is needed. I had a long talk with my best friend from childhood. She and I are spiritual gals, who definitely do not fit into the mainstream bubble of society. We are both Aquarians.
After a long conversation she told me, "You need to take responsibility for what you attract in your life and your belief systems." I totally agreed and did believe in that, but sometimes my skeptical mind questions whether we attract it all or if things are sent our way to build our character. I also love these newsletters from the University of Metaphysics in Sedona, Arizona. I will be visiting Sedona in May. Somehow I feel my life lessons are attached to the weekly theme of these newsletters. Today's, "Protecting Oneself from Negative Energy" further illustrates the psychic energy that flies into the air, and how we need to focus on what we want in life. If you want a better life, you need to become the best version of yourself. Whether that means to hire a therapist to overcome wounds, eat healthier or meditate, you need to use the tools available to you to start improving your health, behavior, life and attitude. Good and evil is rarely black and white. It can, but is not always like a light switch. The light and the dark exists in each and every one of us. It is about control of the darkness and continuing to walk in the light with the Grace of God.
Many people use spiritual tools or God's word and grace in vain. Most people do not understand how to walk into God's grace because they fear giving up themselves entirely or being judged by others. Grace is most needed during times of suffrage and brokenness. No matter how strong or intellectual we are, we cannot trump the Grace of God and His will, for we must have faith in something better for us. But, I do believe we must play a role and have action towards bettering ourselves. Grace is the divine strength and help that we receive from God. It is up to you on whether or not to receive that love and energy from Him. Last night I watched a documentary about World War I, "They Shall Not Grow Old." A different era indeed, but a time when men were men as compared today the millennial man-child.
Today, our societal shift is becoming more self-centered, self-absorbed and narcissistic. We've become less mature than our ancestors, in part because life has become "easy" to survive. Adults today have the maturity of a twelve-year old, many acting like their own "Sun-God." Maturity comes with experience and not necessarily always dictated by one's age. Caring about people, caring about life, caring about how you impact others and/or the world is a sign of maturity. Maturity is the point where two people can agree to disagree and still respect one another. Maturity is when we appreciate and respect the small things in life. It is a time of being selfless and know there is more to life than you, your ego and your worries. Whether people want to believe in it or not, most people at some point in their life crave meeting their soul mate. Every spiritual guru has a different perspective on this, but what I can tell you is that in our lives we meet people with whom we have a deeper soul bond or connection to.
Most crave this in a romantic sense, but some of these connections can be platonic especially if one person is already in a committed relationship. Soul mates teach us some of the most important lessons in life. Like a mirror, they shake things up and force us to look at our inner world in order to change. These connections are not to be taken lightly or to be wasted. Fear causes people to run away and hide because that is easier than looking in the mirror. The law of attraction has its merit. God works miracles and sometimes souls are separated and then reunited as each person is on his or her path of growth in life. When ready, they will meet again if it is meant to happen. And there is no accidental meeting between two souls, whether the connection is for a reason, a season or a lifetime. Happy almost Valentine's Day. Today's sunspiration is obviously inspired by love. An interesting newsletter came into my inbox with an article titled, 'Is it Love or Fantasy?" This article stirred my brain with thoughts regarding love, fantasy and reality.
Both men and women live in a fantasy. We are indoctrinated by Hollywood and both genders have overlays, which lives in a place of fantasy unable to see reality or people for who they are. I believe fairy tale romances exist if two people in love work at it. And that fairy tale occurs when looking deep into the soul of your partner. The article states, "If you find beauty and light there instead of darkness, and have an appreciation for what you have found, then the chances that you have found real love are enormously improved. If you are in love with the inner beauty you have found in the other person, and they are in love with the inner beauty they have found in you, the likelihood is that it is real love and not fantasy. If this is a shared beauty, this is the basis for a lasting love—a love that will last beyond physical life and through all eternity." I've lost love in my life, and I hope to inspire everyone to cherish the love they have in their life. "The light within me recognizes and acknowledges the light within you." I hope you can see the light with the love in your life. Enjoy it. Cherish it. And if it's real, never take it for granted. Happy Birthday Mozart!
This musical genius is still loved to this day. So, what do you think about this quote? Is it that a genius must love what he does? Or is love the true essence of our soul? And if we realize that, and a choose a life of soul + love, we are in fact, genius. There are many ways to interpret this, but we must love ourselves, others and the planet we live on. If we choose to live a soulful life, and love what we do, and let love guide our life, are we a genius? Love is the way to God. Living a life through the heart center is not easy in a world of revenge. I liked this quote I read on revelationsforlife.com, M. Scott Peck, MD, described love as "The will to extend one's self for the purpose of nurturing one's own or another's spiritual growth." You have to love yourself enough to allow yourself to grow as well as others on whatever path they choose. The nucleus of our brain plays an integral role not only in our wellbeing, but also with accessing the higher mind which is the gateway to our soul.
What you feed your mind affects the body, which is its own environment and ecosystem. From the media to the news to the food we eat, our brains are overloaded with "hits of data" everyday. True liberation from societal beliefs, structures and constraints comes from the ability to "see" things as guided by our intuition coupled with the belief and power in God. The reality of today, psychologists, think tanks, food chemists and the like know how to control our brains. Through the maintenance of treating our inner and outer worlds like a temple, we reap what we sow not only in our minds, but also our bodies.
