A Journey into Thought & Spirit

Sunspiration #51: Address Today's Psychological Epidemic

The more I read the news and watch human behavior, the more noticeable it is that America suffers from a psychological epidemic. Because I've lived, or spent extensive time, in other culture's, most places in the western world do not act like we do with this chronic outbursts that destruct society or people's lives.

But, this is changing. Many countries look up to America and do not realize that America has changed. Our natives are being socially engineered and without a sound mind and/or spirit, or sense of identity, people, many of whom are intellects, are committing horrific crimes or doing insane things like beer bonging smoothies for the sake of "being progressive and having no body shame."

Today, many people are like a ticking time bomb, and all stigmas should be put aside as this problem affects all social classes. When chaos strikes, the most important thing to do is to quiet your mind. Nothing good happens with irrational and impulsive decisions. Viewing your life as the glass half empty or half full is all about perspectives.

Vegan Pistachio Strawberry Cheesecake

Summer is here and its time to cool off. It's the time of the year where "you-pick" farms blossom with fresh berries, and there's no better way to use your fruits from nature than in a vegan cheesecake.

Cultures and tribes have marveled strawberries for centuries. According to the indigenous tribes, the wild strawberry represents the "sacred purifier." Though spring is the season of rebirth, we enjoy these fruits during late spring and summer.

To me, this juicy fruit also symbolizes life blood. Not only do we need more liquids, and water-based fruits, during the warm, summer months to cool our metabolism, but spiritually we need to purify our life blood in the summer. It's the time to feel alive and to live our lives.
Picture
Sometimes living too much, or going too hard can deplete us, and that is where the strawberry comes in. The nutrients and vitality restores our energy and life blood that we deplete through everything we LOVE to do in the summer - swimming, hiking, staying out later etc.

It's no wonder why the semi heart-shaped fruit grows during this time of the year. It's the season where school is out for summer and children live their life doing fun things.

The strawberry is also a symbol for Venus, the Goddess of Love, because of its shape and color. And during my recent trip to Europe, I tasted the very pureness of the strawberries in France and Spain. When in Europe, eat the strawberries.

The European Union has strict food laws regarding pesticide and GMO use. Now, this may change as things politically are shifting worldwide, but every time I eat strawberries in Europe I am reminded that this is "the first time" I've tasted real strawberries.

But strawberries are also seen in ancient texts and paintings in Europe. Nature is deeply intertwined to our energetic beings more than we realize because too many people are blinded by mass consumerism and materialism.

In Strasbourg, France I picked up several antique Goethe and Hugo books at a sale in the local Norte Dame church. I got five books and spent 2.50 euros. What great supply and demand!

I'll end this blog with one popular quote from Goethe to express the deliciousness of European strawberries.

Sunspiration #50: Patriotism & Pride

Through the lens of science and spirit, there is a reason why you were born in a certain country and in a particular region of that country too.

It doesn't seem logical and it doesn't make rational sense, but your place of birth happened for a reason. It is one of life's mysteries that we have to figure out why and what we can contribute to our country.

Since brain-washing is at an all-time high, the media has convinced many in the west to feel ashamed of their country of origen. Anyone who has pride in their country must be part of the alt-right, right?

Wrong! Don't be a catfish (aka bottom feeder) and scrounge for the crumbs from the lame-stream media. I will never forget meeting a man from India who was excited to study in the United States. He said no matter how amazing America is, he is so proud to be from India. He wouldn't trade his birthplace for any other country in the world, even though his country is flooded with problems - trash, poverty and corruption.

Have some pride and be proud, like a nice slice of Home Pride bread. And make your country proud of you too. Happy Independence Day!

Elizabeth
