Charles Dickens was a smart man. Maybe I'm biased since we share the same birthdate and I continuously find our analytical skills on the same wave length of looking at society through a similar lens.
Dickens meandered throughout the poor parts of the city, and on Christmas recognized the aura of joy that flowed in the air in the poorer neighborhoods. He realized that the joy and happiness that Christmas brings shouldn't last for one day. But, it should be a spirit that lasts everyday.
