Christmas is less than 10 days away. In a world where consumerism rules the holidays, we are lost and disconnected from the true meaning of Christmas.
We've disconnected from the Pagan Nordic roots of the winter solstice, the energy of the land, and the spiritual meaning of the birth of Christ. This is the darkest time of the year where darkness rules over the light. It is the time to reflect on our blessings and everything that we have - our health, home, family, friends, pets, jobs, benefits etc. Always know that somewhere else in the world someone has bigger problems than you. Some people are homeless. Some people have a miscarriage. Some people have been unemployed for years and unable to get back into the work force. Being thankful for what you have is the essence of humanity. Like the ripple effect, the more we express our gratitude the more we can help other people see the light and positives in their life. If the world became more thankful, we would not suffer from the many issues and problems that exist today.
